The SSC was founded by Richard Flensted-Holder and Dorothea Burstyn and celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2008. The Silver Society offers its members: Interesting lectures. Out of town speakers have included: Philippa Glanville, Nicolas Shaw, Dr. Tessa Mudoch from England, Alison Fitzgerald and Ida Delamer from Ireland, Gordon Foster and Colin Fraser from Scotland, Michael Essen from Denmark, Marie Betterly, Judy Redfield, Don Soeffing, Dr. W. P. Hood Jr. and Dr. Charles Curb from the US. We enjoy the support of many Canadian silver experts such as Dr. Peter Kaellgren, Dr. Ross Fox, Rene Villeneuve to name a few. Friendly get-togethers with fellow silver enthusiasts, annual Christmas party, Show & Tell, etc. Visits to local silver collections Invitations to preview parties at local auction houses. Previews of exhibition and meetings with curators.
